By bus
- Standard Service, all three days
On Wednesday 9 November and Thursday 10 November the No. 7 Halswell bus will travel every 15 minutes from Central Station (located on Lichfield Street) to Halswell Road/Coppell Place. The River Turnstiles entrance to the Show is a distance of 1.3km from here, via Curletts Road (click here for directions). On Friday 11 November, the No. 7 will run to the public holiday (Saturday) timetable, which has a frequency of every 20 minutes. Cash fares are $3.20 for adults and $1.60 for children for a single trip (normal Zone 1 Metrocard fares also apply). For more information visit MetroInfo.

- Special Service, Thursday and Friday
On Thursday 10 and Friday 11 November the Red Bus Special Service will run from Central Station (Platform F, Tuam Street facing Colombo Street) to the River Turnstiles entrance to the Show every 30 minutes between 9.30am and 4.00pm (last service departs showgrounds at 4.30pm). Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children each way or by Metrocard (normal discount does not apply). No transfers. For more information visit Red Bus

By car
Entry to the free public car park is via Wigram Road Entrance 3, McMahon Drive Entrance or Templetons Road Entrance. A free shuttle bus will run from the carpark to the Lake Turnstile entrance. Vehicles will also be able to exit the public carpark via Wigram Road, Templetons Road onto Halswell Road and McMahon Drive on all three days. A one way system will operate on Treffers and Hayton Roads as well as Wigram Road between these two roads. View entrances on the showgrounds map.

On Friday 11 November there will be a pedestrian drop off zone on the corner of Treffers and Wigram Roads and the inside of the Curletts Road gate. There will be no right turn in or out of the Curletts Road gate after 9am on that day. There will be no stopping allowed on Curletts Road at any time during the Show.

There is disabled parking available at Wigram 1 and Curletts 1 entrances; please display your mobility card and marshalls will direct you to the designated area. Please note that disabled parking is limited.

By bike
There will be bike stands available for public use at the lake turnstile and river turnstile entrances. Bring a padlock to secure your bike.

By taxi
There will be taxi stands outside the River Turnstiles for Curletts Road and behind the Livestock Pavilion (west end) for Wigram Road. The official taxi company is Blue Star Taxis, phone 03 379 9799.

Health & Safety When Visiting the Show
Please abide by the safety rules and signage at the Showgrounds. Follow instructions from Marshals and Show Officials.

In the event of an earthquake emergency, please follow ALL instructions given to you by Show staff. Keep clear of buildings and structures.

Parents please ensure that children do not enter livestock pens or enclosures. Do not poke, hit or irritate animals. Be aware of stock movement when walking through the Livestock Pavilion. Please ensure that you and children in your care do not stand behind horses, cows or bulls. They may not see you there.

If visiting the Show with small children we suggest you write your cellphone number on their arm. Should they become separated from you, staff can then easily notify you. A Parent Centre and Lost Children’s Tent is located on MacKenzie Drive.

Diabetes Christchurch Inc is running a parcel and coat check in the Livestock Pavilion on Deans Avenue. Cost is $2.

The roads within the Showgrounds are open for emergency and Show vehicles as well as horses, cattle and other livestock, particularly around the StableMate Arena and the National Bank Lawn. Be aware of vehicular and animal traffic around the Showgrounds particularly if you have children in your care.

EFTPOS - EFTPOS is available at the main turnstile entrances to the Showgrounds. A cash out facility is located at the Treasurer’s Hut Information Office on the Village Green ($2 transaction fee applies).
