Young Auctioneers Competition
The 2016 Heartland Bank Young Auctioneers Competition will be held on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 of November at the 2016 Canterbury A&P Show
The competition aims to showcase and develop young auctioneers and improve the standard of auctioneering across the board.
The Competition has received the support of the New Zealand Stock and Station Agent's Association (NZSSAA) and members are encouraged to put forward young talent to compete in the competition.

Each entrant will be required to attend a preliminary final on Thursday, followed by an interview on Friday morning to test their knowledge. The top five entrants will then be tested on their auctioneering skills by selling three lots in a live auction on Friday afternoon. Previously this was a mock auction.

Each entrant in the Heartland Bank Young Auctioneers Competition will receive a branded Swanndri shirt and an entry ticket/parking pass to attend the Canterbury A&P Show.
First prize is $2000 to enable the winner to attend the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2017, plus **New in 2016** a trip to the 2017 Beef Expo to auction the Queen of Hearts. The winner will also receive the NZSSAA Perpetual Trophy, plus Denis Hazlett memorial medal.
