The Canterbury A&P Show is all about presenting new ideas, technologies and innovations for rural and urban buyers with close to 600 trade exhibitors displaying the latest in agricultural products and services all in the one location. The Canterbury A&P Show consistently attracts 100,000 visitors, with indoor and outdoor exhibits, showcasing the very best of New Zealand farming and rural life, combined with top entertainment and attractions. Hosted by the Canterbury A&P Association, the Canterbury A&P Show is the premier agricultural event in the country, drawing the largest audience of any single event in the South Island as well as being the largest A&P Show in the country.

ASB Agricultural Park, the home of the Canterbury A&P Show, is located in the south-west of Christchurch, alongside the recently upgraded Southern Motorway. The Park is a 42-hectare, purpose built Show facility situated 10 kilometres from Christchurch International Airport. Due to the increasing popularity of the Show and plans for expansion, the Canterbury A&P Show moved to the new Showgrounds in 1997.

During Showtime the public can access the Showgrounds by a special, direct bus service. There is also ample free parking available for Showgoers including a free car park shuttle service to the turnstiles.

Site Options

Site options include themed feature pavilions and outdoor locations for the effective promotion of your products/services. New and continually improving feature pavilions are testament to industry and public demand. A detailed description of the various site options is included in the Trade Exhibitors Information Pack.

Booking Your Site

Complete the Trade Application Form and send with your deposit of $350 (incl GST) by cheque or direct credit to the Canterbury A&P Association.

Once the deposit is received and your site is allocated, you will be invoiced for the balance of your site fee.

Promotional Opportunities

Additional promotional opportunities are available to exhibitors to enhance your presence at the Canterbury A&P Show, including Arena Signage, Newsletter/eDM Advertising, Facebook Promotions and advertising in Show publications and features.

Show Guide
Don't miss the opportunity to advertise in the Show Guide. This 40+ page publication will be distributed at the Show Gates and available online prior to the Show - this is a specifically targeted opportunity to speak directly to your customers on the Showgrounds. Travel Concessions and Discounts

To encourage participation and ensure the Canterbury A&P Show is a truly national event, we offer discounts and subsidies to exhibitors travelling long distances to The Show.

For exhibitors travelling between 26 October – 21 November 2016, a discount of 35% off the Easy Change fare is available thanks to Interislander. This applies to vehicles, trailers etc not exceeding 3,500kgs laden. The discount applies to Online Bookings made between 15 March and 25 November 2016.
Booking conditions and instructions for Exhibitors are:

  • Each reservation must be made direct with Interislander online at
  • Simply insert the Promo code “XCAP1”on the “Payment details” page then click on “enter” and this will apply the discount.
  • On check in at the terminal you will be asked to produce documentation proving “confirmation of entry” to the A & P Show you are attending to avoid being charged the full fare. Your Exhibitor Entry Passes are a valid confirmation.
  • Space is subject to availability at the time of the booking request.
  • Bookings made through the Interislander are at regular rates.
  • The normal conditions of the above fare types apply e.g. Easy Change is 100% refundable if cancelled.
  • Bookings for vehicles over 3,500kg are to be booked through commercial vehicles 0800 660 670. For these vehicles, please use promo code FA5399. You will need to provide proof of your Equestrian New Zealand Membership at check in.
