INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY MARQUEE

We’re excited to announce a brand new feature area this year. The Innovation and Technology Marquee will be situated on the corner of Deans Ave and Mackenzie Drive and will host some exciting innovations from StockX, Ravensdown, Loncel Tecnologies, FieldPro, FF Instrumentation, FarmIQ and Environment Canterbury. We’re particularly excited to also host Agricom – you may have seen them in the news lately displaying the new NSentinel4 system. This Ecotain Environmental Plantain is set to make a huge impact on the issue of nitrogen leaching in New Zealand.

FIBRE TO FASHION PARADE

Come along to this very special fashion event and see some incredible designs, proving that wool fashion isn’t just knitted socks and guernsey jerseys. There will be some top brands on show on Thursday and Friday in the Trade Pavilion at 2pm.

SOUTH ISLAND WOOL BROKERS AUCTION

Back at the Show for the second time, this event begins at 8am on Thursday morning inside the Trade Pavilion. You can watch the auction room antics as 8000 bales of wool are offered to the international trade – this is 35% more wool than the same auction last year. Merino wool prices are the highest they’ve been in nearly 30 years – this has seen woolgrowers hold back their best hogget wool for this very unique sale. Large TV screens will keep you up to date with all the goings on and it’s expected that approximately 7 to 8 million dollars of wool will be sold over 4 hours. Catherine Strang, CEO of Devold (a high end, very established Norwegian woolen outdoor retail brand) has been to invited to present the wool cups & trophies for the wool section at 12.30pm Thursday after the auction. Principally she has targeted the Show to meet with contracted merino wool suppliers promoting their “Sheep To Shop” marketing programme.

SACHIE NOMURA

Sachie is a woman of many hats: executive chef, new mum, entrepreneur, food writer, government consultant and all-round superstar! She owns Australasia’s largest cooking school which has seen over 50,000 students benefit from her knowledge. Her Sachie’s Kitchen products are available in over 150 supermarkets around the country and her delicious Japanese and Asian cuisine is sure to be a hit at the Show this year!
