The New Zealand Agricultural Show is a fantastic day out for the whole family – kids just love all the animals, sights, sounds and colours at this much-loved annual event. In 2017 the Show had some really exciting acts such as Itty Bitty Beats and Brendan Dooley. We will be updating this year’s jam-packed schedule shortly with an overview of all the activities on offer, in the meantime take a look at some of this year’s highlights below.
City Farmyard
The City Farmyard is one of the most popular spots on the Showgrounds. Children are able to get up close and personal with lambs, calves, puppies, ducklings, piglets, chickens and plenty more.
Children’s Shearing
Wednesday is all about the kids in the Shearing Pavilion! Professional shearers will participate in demonstrations and give children the opportunity to have a go, albeit with stuffed toy sheep. Come check it out from 10am to 2pm.
The New Zealand Agricultural Show is run by the Canterbury A&P Association.
The Canterbury A&P Association is a membership based organisation, which celebrated 150 years in 2012. The Association's mission is to further the progress of agriculture in Canterbury and New Zealand, through the annual New Zealand Agricultural Show.
