TRAVEL DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Getting here by Car
Public parking during the New Zealand Agricultural Show is free.
There are three entrances to the public car park: McMahon Drive Entrance, Augustine Drive Entrance and Wigram Road Entrance (via an underpass, strictly cars only, height restriction 2.4m).
Please note: There is NO public parking available from Curletts Road.
Disabled Parking
The best disabled parking available at the New Zealand Agricultural Show is accessible off Curletts Road access (see map below). This grass field sits adjacent to a concrete walk way and is the closest site to access the asphalt from a public carpark. It will however require crossing a short distance of uneven ground before getting onto the asphalt. All disabled taxis are entitled to enter the Show grounds for drop off only (you must have a pre-purchased ticket available for staff to check).
Disabled parking is also available from the main public car park off Wigram Road, McMahon Drive and Augustine Drive. It must be noted there is a distance of at least 200 metres of uneven ground, grass and pathway between the car park and asphalt road within the Show. This land is a public park and the Canterbury A&P Association has no rights to lay asphalt down.
Due to limited space, a valid mobility parking pass MUST be displayed to access the disability parking spots. If a pass can’t be displayed, there is a drop-off point for Show Visitors with mobility issues at the Curletts 1 Entrance with direct access to asphalt pathways.
Getting here by Bike
There will be bike stands available for public use at the Lake Turnstile and River Turnstile entrances. Bring a padlock to secure your bike.
Getting here by Taxi
The official taxi company for the New Zealand Agricultural Show is Blue Star Taxis, phone 379 9799.
We will be uploading a map of the Showgrounds shortly.
